Why film photography?

Close your eyes with me. You’re peeling apart the protective plastic sleeves of a photo album sticky with age. You see an aunt smiling in a way you never have before. Your parent is blowing out the candle on a cupcake, they just turned 30. There you are, in the arms of a grandparent who adores you. Your parents are flushed in the cheeks, laughing before walking into their wedding reception. You’re not there, but it’s so vivid. Somehow these moments are alive with feeling.

Film is chosen for its softness, its stillness, the romance of a blink, its allowance for cheekiness and perfectly imperfect moments frozen in time - serendipitous and sincere.

Who do you work with?

The thread that connects my work is light and shadow and feeling.

Light and shadow are everywhere.

Feeling.. Well, feeling in being held by those who mean something to you, feeling in discomfort, in trusting the process, in trusting me.

feeling in knowing glances, rawness, holding space for what is stirred while documenting a moment in time, listening to your limits.

All that to say, right now I am working with couples, families (chosen & households) and gatherings (small weddings & celebrations).
